The work changes.
So I keep learning.

Formal education gives me depth. Continued learning keeps that knowledge relevant as technology, expectations and the work change.

Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that! — Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking-Glass.
Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking-Glass (1871), chapter II. Read the original passage.

A personal learning philosophy

Keep learning.
Keep evolving.

The world keeps advancing. I use Carroll’s Red Queen idea as a reminder that continuous learning is needed just to stay current. If I stop developing, I fall behind as technology, knowledge and expectations move on.

Effort alone does not guarantee progress. To move ahead, I need to question familiar ideas, develop new capabilities and put what I learn into practice. The “twice as fast” line reminds me to go beyond keeping pace.

Formal education gives me depth. Professional certificates build on that foundation and help me keep specific skills current.
